District 15 Neighborhoods
With about 1,600 household, Eastmorland has celebrated over fifty years of continued existence! There are tremendous environmental and open space opportunities in the Eastmorland neighborhood: Olbrich Park (and Gardens), OB Sherry Park, Eastmorland Park and the Starkweather Conservancy land on Milwaukee Street. Starkweather Creek runs along the neighborhood's western border, separating the neighborhood from the SASY neighborhood.

At a little under 500 acres, the Lake Edge Neighborhood has a great diversity in houses and residents. From a few hundred square foot homes near South Stoughton Road to majestic acre lots to the south of the neighborhood there is an opportunity to buy a house here for everyone. The neighborhood boast few sidewalks (difficult for us politicians to go door-to-door) but create a great tranquil neighborhood very close to the urban core of Madison.

The Carpenter-Ridgeway neighborhood extends all the way up to Anderson Street - the entrance to the Dane County Airport. But the real core of this neighborhood is the vibrant neighborhood association which has quietly worked for numerous years to improve the quality of the Starkweather Creek, beautify along East Washington Avenue and showcase their neighborhood as one of Madison’s best kept secrets.

The Worthington Park and the District 15 part of the SASY (Schenk-Atwood-Starkweather-Yahara) are vibrant diverse communities that share a comment back bone of the revitalized east branch of the Starkweather Creek. The redevelopment of Clyde Galligher Avenue and North Marquette Street along the creek, as well as the pedestrian/bicycle overpass to the Eken Park neighborhood will enhance the connection of these neighborhoods to the other parts of the Eastside of Madison.
District 15 is blessed with many (six to be precise) tremendous neighborhoods, which provide the backbone of social and community life in the area. From neighborhood picnics and root-beer socials, to park equipment dedications, and leaf raking parties, neighborhoods inspire much from residents. I am proud to represent so many unique and different neighborhoods and to be able to share with them their successes.
